My favorite visiting chef was when we went to see food media, with chef Jamie tampo. Chef Jamie can both shoot and direct with a camera and so much so that he was even able to help our food and finance students make their own short sandwich demo segment.
He was great to work with in terms of giving use tips before and after the demo’s. I personally, was what his part of the food industry calls “the talent” while one of my friend's and peer’s Jaylen downer was my “producer”. The talent is the person in front of the camera entertaining by cooking and telling stories about fond memories they've had making, eat, or in general around that dish they're preparing. The producer is the one who tells the "talent" what should be done on camera such as how to place things, cut something for the camera veiw and more! We basically did a run through of how the segment would flow while captivating the audience. We worked together planning step by step… how to make our sandwich and entertain at the same time. Our sandwich we chose to make was originally tomato, mozzarella, and basil later changed to a roasted red bell pepper, mozzarella, and basil which was actually was better than i think the original would've been (The demo can be seen on our media page).
