Murphy's Beans N' Dreams

Things are looking up at Food and Finance High School, this year's senior class has been busy working on fulfilling longtime dreams of some of the school very founders. For years Food and Finance High School has been upscaling and working on new opportunities for their students. This year alone during the senior internship class lead by Food Education Fund program director Eliza loehr, who has been able to get supports of a lifetime for the school. In the program, Eliza teaches students how to work well with others in and out of the ever evolving culinary field, giving students a repertoire of things that they can do in the workforce. Eliza teaches her students things such as knife skills, how to communicate in the workplace, troubleshooting personal problems and more. The fall internship, a class of approximately 23 students has dreamed up a pop up cafe called Murphy's Beans N' Dreams . Under Eliza's leadership the students were broken into teams such as marking, back of the house pastry and savory, PR, and more.

The students named the pop up after schools the late founder of Food and Finance High School Richard Murphy who passed away in 2014.

It was Richard's hopes to turn the space which at the time was just being built as a retail outlet for the school, and we are the class (fall internship class of 2018) to make it happen. Join us for the official launch of Murphy's Beans n' Dreams, Launch Party - Monday, December 11th, 6-8 PM - tickets only $10 each.

We served hot chocolate, hors d'ouevres and special treats. All proceeds will go to the students to help pay for college!
